On the X-ray it was clear she was keeping too many big balls of faeces, no wonder why she tryed so hard to poo, with no success. After two days trying everything, from mouth to anus, we ended up in the operating room. Opening back the already healed white line in the middle of her belly, there it was, her large intestine much bigger than usual. I removed several expected fur and poo balls. In two days she was eating and number one and two perfectly, been this one the most complicated case of constipation I ever had in a patient.
La típica gata persa que nunca toma malta empezó a padecer estreñimiento a las tres semanas de ser esterilizada. Aunque su dueña hizo lo posible para obligarla a tomar malta, o algún laxante cuando el asunto fué de mal en peor, se optó por hacer una radiografía, en caso de que hubiese ingerido algún cuerpo extraño.
En la radiografía quedó claro que estaba reteniendo varias bolas grandes de heces, lo que no sorprendía porqué intentaba tanto defecar sin éxito. Tras dos días de intentar de todo, por boca y anal, acabamos en la sala de operación. Deshacer los puntos que ya estaban cicatrizados, por el centro de su abdomen, ahí vimos, el intestino mucho más grande de lo normal. Quitamos varias de las esperadas bolas de heces y pelo. En un par de días, ya comía y hacía sus necesidades sin problemas, siendo hasta hoy el caso más complicado que he tenido de estreñimiento en un paciente.
