Otitis to death?

The owner whose dog had the worst ear infection I have ever seen wanted to put him to sleep, fed up with drops, gauzes, sanitary towels, liquids and fights with her pet. A strong treatment with aurizon, carprofen, clindamicin and cefalexine for six weeks improved the ear's health, although he was kept for some few more weeks under cefalexine treatment.

This is the typical case where an antibiogram is highly recommended, as the dog had been treated with all the lotions in the market, not being able the owner to finish any of them. Financial reasons did not hampered more tests.

Un fuerte treatamiento con aurizón, carprofeno, clindamicina y cefalexina durante seis semanas mejoró la salud del oido, aunque se le mantuvo por más tiempo con cefalexina. Éste es el caso típico en el que un antibiograma es muy aconsejable, ya que el perro había sido tratado con todas las lociones del mercado, sin haber sido capaz su dueña de acabar ninguno de los tratamientos. Por motivos económicos no se le hicieron más pruebas.
