Leishmune, vacuna contra la "enfermedad del mosquito"

Años llevo oyendo rumores de una vacuna frenta a la leishmania o mal llamada "enfermedad del mosquito" (recordemos que el "gusano del corazón" también se transmite por el mosquito). Incluso podemos encontrar información acerca de esta vacuna que, bajo el nombre de Leishmune la produce Fort Dodge. Lo cierto es que no encontramos esta vacuna en el mercado, Fort Dodge fué comprada por Pfizer, y la única medida frente a esta enfermedad es la prevención con repelentes de mosquitos (scalibor, advantix y parece que algunas piretrinas funcionan igualmente)

For years I have been hearing of a vaccine against leishmania, the 'mosquito illness' (although the heartworm is passed through a mosquito too). Even information of that vaccine is found as, Leishmune, made by Fort Dodge. The truth is that they are not in the market, Fort Dodge was taken over by Pfizer, and the only you can do is preventing it with mosquito repellents (scalibor, advantix and some piretrines)

Entonces ¿Esta foto de la vacuna? esta pregunta también me la hago aún. La respuesta la debe tener un laboratorio brasileño encargado de investigar y desarrollar una vacuna eficaz contra el parásito, la ya inexistente Fort Dodge, y otra empresa farmaceútica, Wyeth. Lo cierto es que, si alguna vez se comercializó, ya no se hace; si se vende en Brasil, en Europa no; y tendremos que esperar que intereses farmaceúticos se resuelvan, o que otra empresa desarrolle esta vacuna.

Well, How come the photo of the vaccines? I also wonder it. The answer must be in the Brasilian lab which took the investigation and development of the vaccine, the late Fort Dodge, and the chemist industry Wyeth. Anyway, if once it was sold, it is not so anymore; if it is delivered in Brasilia, it is not in Europe; and we will have to wait for the solving of industry's interests, or for another firm to do them.
